Interior
The summerhouse is still in its original form as it was built in the 1960s, but new constructions are made, so there is room for up to 5 guests. Despite a thorough modernisation, the house has retained the cosiness and atmosphere that characterises a classic holiday home. The house is not large, but it is well-appointed with all the necessary facilities to make your holiday enjoyable and comfortable. The holiday home is suitable for both families with children and couples who want to enjoy their summer holiday in quiet surroundings just 300 metres from a beautiful sandy beach.
At first you enter the living room via a veranda. The living room is bright and inviting with large windows, a sofa and armchairs. From the living room you can enjoy the view of the garden, cosy up with a game or turn on the TV, where you can watch your own content via Chromecast. There is also free Wi-Fi in the house.
From the living room you enter the kitchen, which is quite narrow but cosy and functionally furnished. In connction to the kitchen is a lovely dining area by the window overlooking the green garden. From the kitchen, there are a few steps down to a functional utility room with plenty of storage space. Here you'll find more space to prepare your holiday meals, as well as a fridge and oven. From the utility room, you can access the new and spacious bathroom. The bathroom has light-coloured tiles, underfloor heating, a large walk-in shower and a washing machine and tumble dryer. From the utility room there is also access to the garden and outdoor shower.
In the bedroom section of the summerhou se, which is next to the kitchen and a small hallway, there are two good and cosy bedrooms. One bedroom has two single beds, while the other room has a double bed and a single bed. This makes a total of 5 comfortable beds. Between the bedrooms is a small toilet, which is bright and also newly renovated.
The house is heated by a heat pump and electric radiators, so even on colder days, the house is lovely to stay in.
In the summer house, it is aimed that no soaps or fabric softeners with perfume are used. Therefore, perfume-free products are available in the house. Likewise, pets are not allowed, which also contributes to an allergy-friendly environment.
Outdoor
The summerhouse is located on a large natural plot with interesting trees and shrubs. The enclosed garden offers both sun and shade. On the lawn, there's plenty of room to play, if you don't want to look at an anthill or relax with a good book. In front of the house is a covered veranda and a tiled terrace, perfect for enjoying holiday meals and the outdoors.
On the east side of the summerhouse is an outdoor shower that allows you to experience nature up close. The shower is shielded, but you get the feeling of bathing in nature as you have a view of the trees and the sky.
There is ample parking at the house, and it is possible to charge an electric car.
Location
Mårup Østerstrand is a lovely, quiet holiday home area with gravel roads and trees. Just 300 metres from the house is a lovely sandy beach where you can swim, walk and relax.
Mårup is only 1.5 kilometres away, where there is a grocery store and several cafés and shops, including bike rental. In addition, Mårup harbour with its fish restaurant and sailing lodge is well worth a visit, and there are great hiking routes from here. The original, well-preserved village of Nordby is also just a few kilometres from the summerhouse, and here you can visit the village pond and iconic bell tower. Nordby also has several restaurants and opportunities to buy local produce or a good ice cream.
The northernmost point on Samsø, Issehoved, is beautiful all year round and there are several good hiking trails that lead through the hilly landscape.
Further south is the cosy harbour town of Langør, where in the summer it is possible to visit a fish restaurant and go for walks by Stauns fjord or visit Samsø Naturskole, which offers several activities for children and adults in the summer. From the beach via the old rescue path along Nordbybugten Bay, head south and reach Langør in just over 1½ hours, passing Nordby heath along the way.
In Tranebjerg, Samsø's largest town, 15 kilometres from the house, there are good shopping opportunities and restaurants, and it's easy to get around the small villages on the entire South Island. Most villages have a street pond, small shops, cafés or roadside stalls, so you can easily feel the life of the island on a bike ride around the island. In summer, Ballen in particular is a lively harbour town with many restaurants and shops.
