Charming sum­mer­hou­se in central village on Samsø, perfect for the small family

Welcome to the old gardener “Svanes House” in Ørby. The house is timbered on the outside and recently renovated inside with respect for the original style, with several beautiful details preserved. It is a cosy village house in quiet sur­ro­un­dings.

When you first enter the house, there is a tiled floor and plenty of space for outerwear. From here there is access to a spacious kitchen family room with exposed ceiling beams and a centrally placed wood burning stove. The open-plan kitchen has plenty of worktop space, a dis­hwas­her and a large fridge-freezer. The living room contains a dining area with a nice old bench and a view of the backyard. It is in con­nection with the cosy sofa corner where you find a wall-mounted TV with Chro­mecast. Here it is possible to watch your own content via mobile or tablet and the free WiFi. This is the house's absolute gathering room, where you can be together for cooking and relaxing.

From outside by the parking spot there is an entrance via the old stable door to a large backdoor with access to a new bathroom, as well as a bright west-facing bedroom with electric radiator, double bed and single bed measuring 70 x 180.

The house is suitable for the adult couple or parents with a child or a teenager.

Outdoor
The old village house in the center of Ørby has a small, fenced front garden with a picket fence and flowers - it oozes of village-idyll. Along the house to the north there is a nice grass car park. In a corner of the garden facing the street, there is a small, tiled terrace with a hedge around it and wooden garden furniture. The house also has a lovely, newly founded south-facing terrace. The garden to the west behind the house is a natural grassed area with a private locked out­bu­il­ding.

Location
Ørby is one of Samsø's sout­her­n­most towns, with a har­moni­ous mix of locals and sum­mer­hou­se guests. The town offers a beau­ti­ful­ly restored church, a large pond with rich wildlife and a lovely common area with tables and benches. It is not far from Brat­tings­borg Manor, the forest belonging to Brat­tings­borg or Vesborg Ligh­t­hou­se and the sur­ro­un­ding beach. It is obvious to go for some good walks here all year round.

Just 2.5 ki­lo­metres from the holiday home is Brundby Rockhotel, which has a varied music calendar most of the year. Distances are short on Samsø, so it is quick and easy to get around to the island's many re­stau­rants, street stalls and other acti­vi­ties.

In Ballen there is a lively maritime en­viron­ment in the summer and many re­stau­rants and small concerts. Tra­neb­jerg is about 4 ki­lo­metres from the holiday home and here there are several good shopping op­portu­ni­ties.

During your holiday you should not miss a trip to Nordby Bakker and see Samsø's nort­her­n­most point, Issehoved, it is always a nice ex­pe­ri­en­ce.
