The beach at St. Sjørup is one of Djursland’s most unique bathing areas. Near the shore, the seabed is mostly fjord-like, but as you move beyond the shallow waters, you reach sandbanks and the open sea stret­ching as far as the eye can see. The trip to the sandbanks can be done with strollers, wagons, and other means of transport suited for shallow water. The beach resembles a tidal flat with clear dif­fe­ren­ces between high and low tide, tidal channels, and small saltwater ponds. About 10 km from the house is the small ferry terminal Udbyhøj, with a marina and excellent fishing op­portu­ni­ties.
