Get up close to the local at­tra­ctions

Store Sjørup is located in northern Djursland, sur­ro­un­ded by bre­ath­taking nature and a truly special beach. The beach features a fjord-like seabed near the coast, but venture into the shallow waters, and you’ll reach the sandbanks – where the sea stretches as far as the eye can see. The unique landscape resembles a tidal flat with small saltwater pools and tidal channels that children and adults can explore together.

A short 10 km drive will take you to Udbyhøj, where a cable ferry carries you across the fjord. On the other side, you’ll find a white sandy beach with a Blue Flag de­sig­na­tion and some of Denmark’s cleanest bathing waters.

If you’re in the mood for more ad­ven­tu­res, visit Fjellerup and treat yourself to one of Denmark’s most famous ice cream cones. For nature and culture ent­hu­si­asts, the Coastal and Fjord Center, Gl. Estrup Manor, and the Tustrup Dolmens are all worth a visit.
