The open kitchen invites you to cook together and enjoy delicious meals. In the living room, you will find a large dining table with enough space for everyone, surrounded by windows that let in plenty of light and offer a view of the garden and fields. There are also comfortable furnishings where you can gather for games, a good book, or a cup of coffee.
On the ground floor, there are two bright and spacious bedrooms, as well as a large and lovely bathroom, providing extra comfort for the house’s guests. The entrance hall functions as a practical distribution area between the ground floor and the first floor – particularly convenient when arriving with luggage or returning after a day of exploring the local area.
From the entrance hall, a staircase leads to the first floor, where you will find three more bedrooms: two with double beds and one with two single beds. There is also an additional bathroom upstairs, ensuring that all guests have access to excellent facilities.

The house is situated on a large plot at the end of a quiet gravel road. Even though you are in Ballen, close to restaurants and the lively harbor area, you can still enjoy your holiday in private and peaceful surroundings. The garden is sheltered, and the large lawn offers plenty of opportunities for play and relaxation.
On the southwest side of the house, a wooden terrace stretches along the house and garden. From the open-plan kitchen and dining area, there is direct access to the terrace, making it easy to bring your meals outside. A covered terrace allows you to sit outdoors, whether you seek shade or shelter. When the sun shines over Samsø, you will always find a great spot in a sun lounger or at the comfortable garden furniture.
Explore local experiences
Ballen is a popular holiday town with many restaurants and a vibrant harbor life in the summer. Small concerts and activities such as crab fishing for children take place here. The town also has one of Samsø’s best sandy beaches, and if you prefer swimming from a jetty, there is one close to the house.
From Ballen, it is only 5.5 kilometers to Samsø’s golf course, a beautifully located 18-hole course. Near the golf course, you will find the village of Besser, known for its cozy café and shop, Søster Sidevind. In Besser, you can also visit a lookout tower offering stunning views over the island’s eastern fields.
Just a few kilometers from the house lies Samsø’s largest town, Tranebjerg, with good shopping opportunities, specialty stores, Samsø Museum, and the tourist information center, where you can find more inspiration for your holiday.
If you take a trip to northern Samsø, you can experience the island’s breathtaking nature, and you should treat yourself to a walk in Nordby Bakker. Here, you will find both short and long hiking trails through the stunning Ice Age landscape, with views extending to Tunø, Jutland, Zealand, and the Kattegat. When hunger strikes, a visit to the charming and historic village of Nordby is highly recommended, where you will find excellent restaurants and small shops selling local products.
