The open kitchen invites you to cook together and enjoy delicious meals. In the living room, you will find a large dining table with enough space for everyone, sur­ro­un­ded by windows that let in plenty of light and offer a view of the garden and fields. There are also com­fortab­le fur­nis­hin­gs where you can gather for games, a good book, or a cup of coffee.

On the ground floor, there are two bright and spacious bedrooms, as well as a large and lovely bathroom, providing extra comfort for the house’s guests. The entrance hall functions as a practical di­stri­bu­tion area between the ground floor and the first floor – par­ti­cu­lar­ly con­ve­ni­ent when arriving with luggage or returning after a day of exploring the local area.

From the entrance hall, a staircase leads to the first floor, where you will find three more bedrooms: two with double beds and one with two single beds. There is also an ad­di­tio­nal bathroom upstairs, ensuring that all guests have access to excellent fa­ci­li­ties.

The house is situated on a large plot at the end of a quiet gravel road. Even though you are in Ballen, close to re­stau­rants and the lively harbor area, you can still enjoy your holiday in private and peaceful sur­ro­un­dings. The garden is sheltered, and the large lawn offers plenty of op­portu­ni­ties for play and re­laxa­tion.

On the southwest side of the house, a wooden terrace stretches along the house and garden. From the open-plan kitchen and dining area, there is direct access to the terrace, making it easy to bring your meals outside. A covered terrace allows you to sit outdoors, whether you seek shade or shelter. When the sun shines over Samsø, you will always find a great spot in a sun lounger or at the com­fortab­le garden furniture.

Explore local ex­pe­ri­en­ces

Ballen is a popular holiday town with many re­stau­rants and a vibrant harbor life in the summer. Small concerts and acti­vi­ties such as crab fishing for children take place here. The town also has one of Samsø’s best sandy beaches, and if you prefer swimming from a jetty, there is one close to the house.

From Ballen, it is only 5.5 ki­lo­me­ters to Samsø’s golf course, a beau­ti­ful­ly located 18-hole course. Near the golf course, you will find the village of Besser, known for its cozy café and shop, Søster Sidevind. In Besser, you can also visit a lookout tower offering stunning views over the island’s eastern fields.

Just a few ki­lo­me­ters from the house lies Samsø’s largest town, Tra­neb­jerg, with good shopping op­portu­ni­ties, specialty stores, Samsø Museum, and the tourist in­for­ma­tion center, where you can find more in­spira­tion for your holiday.

If you take a trip to northern Samsø, you can ex­pe­ri­en­ce the island’s bre­ath­taking nature, and you should treat yourself to a walk in Nordby Bakker. Here, you will find both short and long hiking trails through the stunning Ice Age landscape, with views extending to Tunø, Jutland, Zealand, and the Kattegat. When hunger strikes, a visit to the charming and historic village of Nordby is highly recom­men­ded, where you will find excellent re­stau­rants and small shops selling local products.
