Sams ø offers many exciting activities for the whole family. Around Ballen you'll find the island's best sandy beaches, ideal for swimming and families with children.
Just 2 kilometres from the house is Ballen town, where there is a grocery store that is open all year round. There are also bike hire, a café, restaurants and roadside stalls with locally grown vegetables.

On the South Island, for example, you can stop by Falkecenter Samsø, where you can watch the eagle and other large birds show off their skills. Around the many cosy villages you'll find speciality shops, tasty strawberries in season and cafés.
The village of Besser is especially known for its cosy village environment and the café Søster Sidevind, which is open all year round. You can also go for a walk on Besser Reef and experience exciting birds, find amber or a fossilised sea urchin.
Stop by Ballen Harbour and taste some wonderful specialities from Samsø. If you come to Ballen in week 29, prepare yourself for the fact that Denmark's most cosy festival is held here every year in July.
