Lovely low-energy house with beautiful view to the Wadden Sea

Comfort is at its peak in this year-round usable summer house, which is ta­ste­ful­ly furnished with all sorts of modern con­ve­ni­en­ces. The location is just as de­light­ful as the house itself, as the large windows provide stunning views over the Wadden Sea and Rømø’s eastern coastline.

The summer house, built in 2009, is full of smart details that make holiday life espe­ci­al­ly com­fortab­le indoors. For example, it is a highly insulated low-energy house with a ground source heating system and un­der­floor heating in all rooms, making it suitable for year-round use. On colder days, the un­der­floor heating can be sup­ple­men­ted by both a wood-burning stove and a heat pump, and when the summer sun shines, the heat pump can cool the house down. Ad­di­tio­nal­ly, it is worth noting that the door width is 90 cm, ensuring good ac­ces­si­bi­li­ty for whe­el­chair users. The layout is perfect for eight people: there are four bedrooms and two bathrooms, one of which is equipped with a lovely hot tub for two. The social gathering point is the spacious living area, which consists of an open-plan living room and kitchen. The sense of space is truly pleasant, with high ceilings and large windows that invite natural light and the view of the Wadden Sea inside.

Enjoy life outside
The scenic sur­ro­un­dings can de­fi­ni­te­ly be enjoyed outdoors on the large, green plot. An ideal spot to relax is the large, partially covered wooden terrace that faces the Wadden Sea. You can spend the afternoon lounging in the sun loungers, and when it’s time for dinner, you can fire up the grill, set the table, and look forward to a lovely summer meal with the stunning sea view.

Get up close to the local at­tra­ctions
Directly across from the house, Icelandic horses graze in the field, adding to the idyllic at­mosp­he­re of the small, closed road. If you enjoy horseback riding, there is an Icelandic horse center nearby that offers tours through the forest and on the beach around Rømø. Also nearby are Rømø Mini-Golf and Rømø Bakery, while it’s just under one and a half ki­lo­me­ters to the center of Havneby, where you’ll find a su­per­mar­ket, re­stau­rants, bike rentals, fish shops, and stores. From the harbor, you can take the ferry to the neig­h­bor­ing island of Sylt for a charming day trip – or you can stay at the harbor and enjoy the view over the Wadden Sea, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. When you drive over the causeway to the mainland of Jutland, you’ll also have an unob­structed view over the Wadden Sea. This trip is a great idea if you’re in the mood for indoor swimming, as you have free and unlimited access to the water park at Skærbækcentret as a guest in the house.
