The holiday home areas of Vemmingbund Strand and Brunsnæs are located near the town of Broager in between Gråsten and Sønderborg. From Broager it is just eight kilometres to the area's largest town of Sønderborg, where you can shop on the quaint pedestrian walkway, stroll along the quay and absorb centuries of history at Sønderborg Castle.
We recommend a hike or bicycle tour along Gendarmstien, a path which stretches 74 kilometres along the north side of Flensborg Fjord from Padborg to Als. The path was formerly used as a patrol route by the Danish gendarmes who guarded the border on foot.
