The area
Horne Sommerland is a minor holiday home area which is only 7 km away from Fåborg. South Funen is known for its very special and hilly nature with Svanninge Bakker, the so-called Funish Alps, and the beautiful and unique archipelago. The idyllical harbour town Fåborg is only 10 minutes away by car with nice shops, cultural sights, restaurants and an indoor swimming-pool. South Funen has a lot to offer. Take a day trip to the islands of Lyø, Avernakø or Ærø. The ferry leaves daily from the harbour in Faaborg. Egeskov Castle, which is one of Funen´s largest attractions, is also worth a visit as well as Odense, Funen´s largest town, which is only 30 minutes away by car from the area.
