Description
In the cosy holiday house area at Overby Lyng at Sjællands Odde you have access to the sea by two beaches – towards south the Sejerø Bay and towards north Kattegat. This rather old but charming small holiday house is a good basis for two persons who just want to relax and have a cosy time inside and outside and experience the fine landscape at Odden or other of Odsherred’s many attractions.
Welcome inside
Here is ample space for two, and you may also have a visitor or two by the cosy dining table with a flap next to the kitchen and the soft chaise longue, where you will enjoy sitting and just listen to the silence from the surrounding nature. If it gets cold, you may quickly get warm by putting a couple of logs into the wood burner. In the kitchen you have, what you need, and you can prepare your steaks while enjoying the view to the high pine trees, spread on the plot.
Enjoy life outside
By the house there are several windbreaks and terraces, so you may sit comfortably to read a good book or enjoy a cup of coffee at several spots, according to the course of the sun. The nature plot has many high pine trees and spruces. If you are sitting quite still and brought a pair of binoculars, you will be able to see and hear some of the many bird species at Overby Lyng. There are willow warblers, chiffchaffs, nuthatches, magpies and woodpeckers besides a series of birds or prey that you may have the luck to spot: kestrel, goshawk and sparrow hawk.
Get close to the local attractions
Take a walk to collect stones. We at Feriepartner Odsherred recommend you to visit the beach at Ebbeløkke by Kattegat, ideal for stone collectors. Here is a wide selection of interesting and beautiful stones. Each single stone is a testimony of how Denmark was created during the last Ice Ages. Rhomb-porphyry from Norway, diabase from Sweden as well as limestone and flint from the Danish underground. Each stone is telling a story about its creation and origin.
