Great holiday house in the scenic nature area Veddinge Bakker

This great and spacious holiday house is located by Skamlebæk bordering on Veddinge Bakker(=Hills), and together the area makes up the most important and most out­stan­ding areas in UNESCO Global Geopark Odsherred. For the area is a part of the Vejrhøj Arch that was created at the end of the latest Ice Age, when huge glaciers created three lateral moraines con­si­sting of bank-shaped hills: The Vejrhøj Arch, the Vig Arch and the Højby Arch, together known as the Odsherred Arches.

Welcome inside

When you are sitting in the soft chaise longue corner sofa, you have a panoramic view through the windows in the living room to the nature plot in the peaceful area, and it is easy to relax and just enjoy the peace and quiet. From the kitchen you also have a fine view, and there is enough space for several of you to produce the pleasures of the table. The house has an extra bedroom, where you may sit and write poetry or sketch, and the children will enjoy the big loft bed in the living room. After a nice walk, you may enjoy a tour in the sauna and the big bathtub.

Enjoy life outside
On the big wooden terrace you will enjoy sitting at the dining table and feel united with nature, or you can take a rest in the deckchair on the terrace. You do not need to be a savage to enjoy the wil­der­ness bath, where the water is heated, and you may enjoy the unique feeling of relaxing in the tub outdoors, also when the weather is not sunny.

Get close to the local at­tra­ctions
To get the full value from your holiday in this fantastic nature area, we at Fe­ri­e­part­ner recommend you to take a hike in Bjergene and make your way up to the top of the highest point in Odsherred and the third-highest point on Zealand, Vejrhøj Hill, rising 121 above sea level.
Vejrhøj is also one of the most im­pres­si­ve burial mounds on Zealand and the highest located. The mound is dating back to the Bronze Age. It has never been excavated by ar­cha­e­o­lo­gi­sts or grave robbers but is still hiding its secrets.

From Vejrhøj you have a bre­ath­taking view all around the horizon. In clear weather you can spot 27 church towers. Vejrhøj is the crown on the Vejrhøj Arch – one of the three Odsherred Arches – stret­ching from west to east through Odsherred. The Arches are lateral moraines, created by the ice 15.000-18.000 years ago.
