Cosy holiday house with high location and a view to Sejerø Bay
House-ID: 16615The holiday house areas by Kårup Hill have a high location and a view to Sejerø Bay and with Ordrup foreland and the village Ordrup towards west; you have the village Fårevejle and the flat fields of the Lammefjord on the other side of the hills towards east. This is a well-developed holiday house area and in between unbuilt areas with burial mounds and wetlands, and in most places you find paths, connecting the areas with shortcuts to Ordrup with several eating places, a village pond and a grocery store. It is a moraine landscape, created by the Ice Age and therefore in the centre of UNESCO Global Geopark Odsherred that you may explore further on exciting walks in the undulating landscape called Bjergene (=the mountains) and Kårup forest.
Welcome inside
This cosy but not new house has a high location, and from the plot you have a partial view to Sejerø Bay. In the partly open kitchen you can prepare the meals, or you may sit on the couch and follow the cooking that you will enjoy at the table by the big terrace windows while watching the flames in the wood burner, built into the former open fireplace. You may sit in the sofa or the charming old furniture in the light living room and get ready for a cup of coffee after dinner.
Enjoy life outside
The plot is highly located and is undisturbed with nice vegetation and a good view, and you have two terraces to choose between, depending on wind and weather. The area is close to open and unbuilt areas with good footpaths, burial mounds and the table/bench setting of the house owners’ association. Via the footpaths you have a shortcut to the village Ordrup. You have a good chance to spot deer and hares in your garden, particularly in the morning and early evening
Get close to the local attractions Close to the holiday house you find the protected area Bjergene with wonderful walking paths and a full view of Sejerø Bay. We at Feriepartner Odsherred recommend you to take a walk to Orehøje in Kårup forest, marked as a red route of 5,5km from Bjergene to Orehøje in the pamphlet “Bjergene I Odsherred” from the Danish Nature Agency.
Orehøje is located 90m above sea level on an old common field in the middle of Kårup forest. Today the forest has been cleared down towards Rævebjerg and “Røvballerne”, so you get a breathtaking view of Kårup forest, Bjergene and the sea. Cattle are grassing in the area and contribute to preserve the versatile flora on the poor common soil. At Orehøje you find three well-preserved burial mounds from the Bronze Age.
