Welcome inside
The house is bright and functional with room for up to 8 people. The entrance is on the south-facing side of the house, and here you enter a nice entrance hall and distribution corridor.
The kitchen/family room has space to prepare all meals, windows and a patio door to the garden. When the weather permits, you can easily take your meals outside to the garden. The kitchen includes a dishwasher, stove and microwave, so when it's time to prepare lunch or freshly caught fish, there are plenty of facilities for it. Adjacent to the kitchen is the dining area.
Centrally located is also a wood-burning stove that creates warmth and cosiness in the kitchen/family room. In addition to the wood-burning stove in the kitchen/family room, there is electric heating throughout the house and a heat pump in the living room.
The living room is large and spacious with south-facing windows, so there is plenty of natural light. The living room has comfortable armchairs where you can sit close to the wood-burning stove and read a good book, or you can lounge in the sofa corner where there is a TV with a Chromecast. This means there are no TV channels, but you can choose what you want to watch via mobile or tablet and the house WiFi.
Next to the kitchen is a bedroom with a comfortable double bed. From the kitchen there is access to a hallway with a shower and toilet and two more bedrooms. Both bedrooms can accommodate two overnight guests. The rooms are bright with storage space and a comfortable double bed.
Next to the bedrooms are two toilets: one is a spacious bathroom with a built-in shower cubicle and a washing machine, and the other toilet is a smaller toilet that is neat and newly renovated. The two toilets provide more space and comfort when there are up to 8 guests in the house.
In the distribution corridor, there is a spiral staircase up to the first floor, where there is a great familyroom with a sofa and table space, so it's perfect when you gather for a meal or playing a game. There is plenty of light from the windows and the large glass patio door, which opens onto a lovely balcony. From the east-facing balcony, you can enjoy beautiful views of the sea and the beach with sunrises. Many hours can be spent here enjoying the tranquillity and the open landscape.
On the first floor is also the 4th bedroom of the house which accommodate two people.
Enjoy life outside
The summerhouse is located on a quiet road in a rural area called Nørreskifte. The house is on a bend, so even though there is traffic on the road, cars do not pass by quickly. The house is surrounded by a hedge, but the hedge is not too high to preserve the view. Behind the house is also a lovely, enclosed garden with trees all around, so you can spend time here in complete privacy. There's a fire pit in the garden, and there's even an outdoor drill to clean fish that you may have caught from the shore just 400 metres from the house. There's also a large, tiled terrace where you can fire up the barbecue and relax on the garden furniture.
There is parking space by the south-west site of the house.
There is a small wind turbine on the neighbouring plot. Samsø is a green island, and many houses have their own solar panels or a wind turbine. If the wind is in a certain direction, you might be able to hear this wind turbine.
Get up close to the local attractions
The summerhouse is located on Samsø's southern island, where the small villages are close to each other. Here the fields abound with the many crops in season such as potatoes, strawberries or pumpkins.
Only 3 kilometres from the house is Ballen, a cosy and lively harbour town with many restaurants, shops and live concerts in the summer. Here you'll also find a beautiful sandy beach with clear bathing water.
Close to the summerhouse is the largest town on Samsø, Tranebjerg, with several shopping facilities, a local museum and tourist information centre. It's easy to cycle around to the cosy villages, and just 4 kilometres from the house you can visit Brundby Rockhotel, where there are great concerts all year round.
On the southernmost part of Samsø is the beautiful Brattingsborg Forest and in the summer months you can visit Vesborg Lighthouse, which offers views of Funen, Zealand and Jutland.
Travelling north, don't miss a walk in Nordby Bakker and the northernmost point, Issehoved. Nordby is also a charming village with an iconic clock tower and street pond. There are several good places to eat here, which, like many of the island's restaurants, are based on local produce.
