Description
What does your dream holiday include? A daily dip in the North Sea, followed by a trip to the sauna? A cool refreshment on the terrace with a view of waving marram grass – or plenty of fresh air and activities in beautiful, unspoiled nature? When you spend your days in this charming summer house, you can experience all these scenarios and many more, as it has an attractive location on a closed road, just 500 meters from Lakolk Beach.
Welcome inside
The black-painted wooden summer house has been standing here in the stunning dune landscape since 1912, giving it a history that surpasses most holiday homes. It’s easy to understand why people have loved spending holidays here for over a century, as you instantly feel at ease when you park at the end of the closed road and step into the cozy surroundings. Of course, much has changed since its construction, and the house now serves as a comfortable holiday home for six people – plus a pet, if you’d like to bring your dog along. The beds are distributed across two bedrooms and a loft, and the loft is sure to become a coveted sleeping space if everyone in the family dreams of waking up to the sight of soft dunes and a bright blue sky. The bathroom includes a sauna, and finally, the kitchen-dining area is open to the living room, separated only by a three-step staircase.
Enjoy life outside
The summer house area is adorned with marram grass, helmet and other coastal plants, so even if most of your holiday is spent in a garden chair on the terrace, you can feel that you are just a few hundred meters from the beach. The natural plot is hilly, so on the east side of the summer house, the wooden terrace is slightly elevated above the ground, and a staircase leads down to a swing set for the children. On the terrace, you can choose from both covered and open seating areas, including a cozy nook with windows facing west, allowing you to sit sheltered while enjoying the beautiful light and the peaceful surroundings.
Get up close to the local attractions
The summer house is located at the end of a closed road, and from here, you can follow the paths through the dune landscape all the way to the water. Lakolk Beach is known as one of Europe’s widest sandy beaches, making it a wonderful spot for walking, flying kites, riding, windsurfing, and swimming in the North Sea. If you prefer, you can drive your car right onto the beach, but there are also car-free areas where you can fully enjoy the tranquility. Daily shopping can be done at Lakolk Shopping Center, where you can also shop, eat ice cream, and enjoy a cool drink with your loved ones at one of the cafés. Rømø offers plenty of beautiful nature – not least the Wadden Sea, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site – and the island also has many fun and cozy holiday activities. If you feel like taking the family on an excursion to the mainland, it’s a great idea to drive to Skærbæk, as you’ll have free access to the water park at Skærbækcentret.
