Description
Original details and modern amenities are beautifully combined in this carefully renovated cottage, which is splendidly located in the popular Sønderstrand area.
Welcome inside
The thatched cottage has been continuously renovated over the years, with a focus on preserving the house’s soul and charm. For instance, there are still exposed ceiling beams in the atmospheric living room – while the room has been modernized with a heat pump, a well-equipped kitchen area, and nice furnishings. When you relax on the sofa near the wood stove, you can enjoy the view of the garden, and you might even spot a deer or a pheasant wandering by in the greenery. The ground floor also includes a bedroom and a bathroom, while the first floor offers two additional bedrooms and a toilet.
Enjoy life outside
Outdoor living can also be enjoyed in multiple levels: On the first floor, you can gaze out over the scenic surroundings from the two balconies, or you can settle on the terraces that wrap around several sides of the house. Part of the terrace is covered, so even if the dew falls, you can easily stay seated on the mild summer evenings. The plot, measuring 3.138 m², is beautifully designed, and while the fencing and trees provide privacy, there is also plenty of space to play on the open lawns.
Get up close to the local attractions
The Sønderstrand area is an attractive place to spend your holiday. As the name suggests, you are close to Sønderstrand itself, known as one of Europe’s widest sandy beaches. The open spaces are not only an impressive sight but also make the beach a perfect place for wind sports like kite buggy and blokart. Several riding centers on Rømø also organize beach rides, and if you dream of taking a dip in the fresh waves of the North Sea, Rømø’s west coast is the ideal destination. A forest trip might also tempt you, in which case you can walk from the cottage to the short distance to Vråby tree plantation. Golfers are recommended to play a round on Rømø Golf Club’s beautiful links course, which extends down to the Wadden Sea. The Wadden Sea is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, so the view of nature is literally top-notch.
