Description
Østerlyng is a wonderful holiday area located between the towns Nykøbing and Rørvig and close to the unique areas: Hov Vig with the bird sanctuary, Rørvig Sandflugtsplantage forest and Fredsskoven forest in Askehaven close to the holiday houses. The Kattegat coast with a series of good bathing beach you can reach by a half hour’s walk or by a 10-minutes bicycle ride.
Welcome inside
This lovely and well disposed holiday house offers bedrooms to one side and open kitchen and living to the other. Here you have room for the big family, the knitting or card club, just some good friends or a family of four with two grandparents. From the open kitchen you can easily serve the meals by the dining table, and from the dining table you may follow the course of nature and life in the garden right outside the window. Afterwards you may take your tea or coffee in the sofa by the door to the south-facing terrace, and when the night is falling, you have the nice and spacious bedrooms in the other wing opposite the living room. The slanting walls and the wood burner create the genuine holiday house atmosphere.
Enjoy life outside
Enjoy your breakfast and afternoon coffee, actually all meals, on the big sheltered south-facing terrace between the two angles of the house. There are several other terraces, located undisturbed around the house plus a table/bench setting. In the lovely garden you may invite to a family competition in petanque, croquet or badminton, or maybe a 1km walk in the small 10 hectare Fredsskoven forest in Askehaven almost right across from the holiday house. If you are in for a longer walk or want to take a swim, Kattegat is just a few kilometres away and is tempting with a beautiful bathing beach and a kilometres long coastline.
Get close to the local attractions
With the base in the holiday house you have access to several nature areas. We at Feriepartner Odsherred recommend visiting Hov Vig: From Østerlyng there is only a short walk to the bird and game sanctuary Hov Vig, covering 334 hectares of which the main part is wetland areas with an exciting bird life. You find a bird tower at the middle of the dam, where up to 300 different bird species have been registered. When you reach the other side of the dam, you may continue the walk across Slettemosen moor with grassing cattle and horses and a view towards Nykøbing Bay, or towards Nakke forest, covering 6 hectares and established in 1994.
