This unique summer house is probably the most famous of all properties in the seaside town of Løkken. Towering on top of a dune, the house stands alone right next to the beach, and the architecture exudes abundance, quality, and finesse. The house's fascinating history dates back to 1920, when it was named Blånæs – inspired by the clay mound “Den Blå Næse” located north of the property.

History
Blånæs was built as a magnificent summer villa with a high thatched roof, mullioned windows, timber-framed gables, and a sailing ship decoration above the front door. The stately summer residence has a long and interesting history that is worth exploring in more detail, but here it is worth mentioning that the first owner was director Martin Cohn, and later the house was bought by Johannes Madsen-Mygdal (brother of former prime minister Thomas Madsen-Mygdal) and his wife Alice, who later took the surname Heckscher.

The history of Blånæs and its owners is described in more detail here:

Welcome inside
Staying in a property like Blånæs is a memorable experience, as the house's architecture and atmosphere are exceptional. Inside, you can explore the elegant rooms, adorned with fine carpentry and exquisite interior details. On the ground floor, there are three living rooms, one of which is called the yellow salon, offering a fantastic panoramic view of the North Sea with its many windows. It features high panels in English style – perfect for an afternoon reading session or a drink after dinner. The bright dining room also has views of the water and the beach, and in the adjacent kitchen, you’ll have excellent working conditions when it’s time to cook, with a fine mix of classic interior and modern amenities. In general, the modernization of the house has been done with respect for its original style – also on the top floor, where the three bedrooms each have their own color scheme and furnishings. Two rooms are furnished with double beds, and the third with two single beds, providing a total of six sleeping spots. Both the first floor and the ground floor are equipped with a bathroom with marble tiles and a sink, and in the basement, there is a bathroom with a shower. Additionally, there is a large bathroom in the basement with a bathtub, shower, and beautiful tile work.
Much more could be described, but it is difficult to fully capture the atmosphere, light, and ambiance of Blånæs, as it should be experienced firsthand.

Enjoy life outside
The summer house is located on top of a large dune property, so there is a small path with stairs from the garage up to the house's enclosed paved terrace. Here, you can take your first cup of coffee outside to enjoy the morning sun and the beautiful view of the dunes, and it’s easy to be tempted to stay for a long time with a good book in the peaceful surroundings. If you want to admire the sea view, there is access from the yellow salon to a west-facing stone terrace. Here, you can not only gaze out over the blue water and the wide sandy beach but also observe life around Løkken Mole – and by the way, the sunsets from here are spectacular. Please note that barbecuing is not allowed.

Get up close to the local attractions
Blånæs is located in the peaceful and picturesque holiday home area of Furreby, which belongs to the old part of Løkken. Because of its long history, the house has an exclusive location on a small dune directly at the beach, and in fact, a former owner built his own coastal protection to prevent the house from falling into the sea. From the house, it is only a few minutes’ walk to Løkken, and you also have direct access to the beach, where you can explore the many bunkers from World War II, admire the town’s white bathhouses, and sunbathe after a dip in the North Sea. If you take a walk along the beach, you will quickly reach Løkken Mole, and if you’re ready when the fishermen return from the sea, you might be lucky enough to buy fresh fish for your dinner. If you prefer eating out, Løkken offers many great restaurants, many of which have outdoor seating. The town also has good shopping options, cozy shops, and fun activities like go-karting, golf, surfing, and much more.

Remember, you can always borrow hand carts, high chairs, and baby cribs from us at Feriepartner Løkken. You can pick them up directly at the office and return them when your vacation is over.
