Get up close to the local attractions
You’ll be staying near Lild Strand’s fishing landing site, where traditional fishing is still practiced. The village has two small shops where you can buy fresh and smoked fish to enjoy for dinner. If you’re interested in art, a couple of galleries are also located in the old fishing village. Nature lovers will appreciate the surrounding landscapes of plantation forests and coastal heath. A visit to the Kirsten Kjær Museum near Frøstrup is highly recommended for its unique atmosphere and occasional summer concerts. To the northeast, you’ll find Bulbjerg, Denmark’s only bird cliff, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the sea and rugged coastline. If you head west to Vigsø Strand, you can explore the World War II bunkers scattered along the beach—a fascinating historical site. In Frøstrup, just 10 km from Lild Strand, you’ll find a well-stocked supermarket and the option to rent bicycles. The area from Lild Strand and Bulbjerg up towards Thorup Strand has been designated and certified as a Dark Sky Park, meaning you can fully experience the stunning night sky and deep darkness, interrupted only by the sound of the waves.
