Welcome to a holiday house in harmony with nature and animal life
House-ID: FJ1004Welcome inside
You're entering a stunning house that has been in the family for three generations. The original floorboards are steeped in history and blend beautifully with the renovations made over the last 10-15 years. The large eat-in kitchen with plenty of space for preparing meals and the wood-burning stove provides the perfect cosiness. From here you look out into the garden, one is tempted to say the park on the over 5500 m2 plot - which just continues with fields and forest as far as the eye can see. A separate living room with a wood-burning stove and TV is the perfect place to curl up with a glass of wine or coffee, while you immerse yourself in a good book or take out the board games to enjoy together. There are three bedrooms in the barn, and you pass the two before you reach the bathroom and the master bedroom ‘the stable’, which was originally a stable but has now been converted into a really cosy bedroom with the original stable windows.
Enjoy life outside
In the garden, there's plenty of space to cosy up by the fire pit, play ball games and play. The large wooden terrace is the focal point for enjoyment and relaxation. You are next door to horse paddocks, and if you have your own horse, it is possible to take it on holiday with you and have it walk in the paddock; this must of course be arranged. There are five bicycles in the shed, which you are welcome to use. This oasis is close to the cycle path that goes towards Kulhuse or Jægerspris, so you can take a trip along the shooting range where the military organises free guided bike tours in the summer in a fantastically exciting area rich in nature and wildlife.
Get close to local experiences
Take a trip to the beach at either Isefjord or Roskilde Fjord, just minutes from the holiday home. In Kulhuse there is a sandy beach close to the harbour where the Columbus ferry can take you to North Zealand. Take a walk in Nordskoven, where you can take a packed lunch and visit the 3 oaks, which have a life history dating back more than 1000 years. In Jægerspris, you can visit Jægerspris Castle and take a walk in the castle park, see Countess Danner's grave and end the trip with an ice cream in one of Denmark's most popular ice cream parlours. The area offers many opportunities for hiking and cycling, including the Fjord Trail, which takes you along the fjord and into the Hornsherred landscape. The Fjord Trail is 230 kilometres long and offers beautiful views and varied paths suitable for both cyclists and hikers.
