By car, there are plenty of opportunities for shopping and cultural experiences in both the garrison town of Haderslev and the old castle town of Kolding.

Hejlsminde is a nice holiday home area with a fine beach, beautiful nature and good fishing opportunities. You also find a swimming-pool, a cafeteria and a restaurant in Hejlsminde. The historic towns of Christiansfeld, Haderslev and Kolding are within short distance from Hejlsminde. In Kolding, 15 km north of Hejlsminde, there are good shopping facilities in the walking street and in the shopping mall as well as a large aqua park with wellness center. In Kolding you can also find exciting sights such as the museums Koldinghus which is an ancient castle and the design museum Trapholt.
