Take a trip to Ebeltoft and explore the old market town with its narrow streets and cosy cafés, or visit the exciting museums such as the Glass Museum and Fregatten Jylland and you're close to both Ree Park Safari and Djurs Som­mer­land, gu­a­ran­te­e­ing en­tertain­ment for the whole family.

For those who love hiking, Helgenæs offers fantastic nature ex­pe­ri­en­ces. Mols is not just ‘the mountains’ - there is also Helgenæs with steep slopes and small winding paths. Take a trip to Slet­ter­ha­ge Ligh­t­hou­se, the historic German Tower, gun em­pla­ce­ment and bunker or climb El­le­mands­b­jer­get, where you will be rewarded with a unique view. Djursland's landscape has also inspired author J.R.R. Tolkien, who created fairytale worlds like The Lord of the Rings. The myth of the Elven King of Helgenæs is said to have con­tri­bu­ted to Tolkien's Elven kings, and the story of El­le­mands­b­jerg still fa­sci­na­tes. Just 2.5 ki­lo­metres from the house is a beautiful pebble beach where you can explore the coastline and perhaps find the old wreck hiding on the beach. At Esby Strand there is a jetty that invites you to take a re­fres­hing dip. Here you can also create your own beach artwork, build cairns or hunt for the brooms - the special stones with holes.
