Veddinge Bakker(=Hills) is located in the centre of UNESCO Global Geopark Odsherred that is a part of the Vejrhøj Arch. Together with the Hønsinge Arch and the Højby Arch they are forming the three Odsherred Arches, displayed in the logo for the Geopark. It is a lateral moraine landscape, created during the later part of the latest Ice Age 17.000 years ago, and that today stands as an attractive holiday area with hills and ridges, protected nature areas and a view of the landscapes and the sea.

Welcome inside

From the kitchen in the centre of the cosy holiday house you can look out the west-facing windows and see the sea in the distance and the tip of Ordrup foreland, while you are preparing a meal. When you are sitting around the dining table, you have a view to the spacious and wonderful nature plot and the sea from the high located holiday house area. This is light and friendly, peace and quiet, and in the back garden the plot is bordering even more nature. The wood burner will keep you warm in the house, whether you sleep in the bedroom or on the sofa bed in the living room.

Enjoy life outside
The undulating nature plot is slightly sloping, but you may easily play football, croquet, petanque or other games that you brought. There are also many sheltered spots and a fine tiled terrace with a table/bench set. You can easily and quickly reach the stony and sandy beach at Skamlebæk or the sandy beach at Veddinge Strand on a small walk or on your bicycle. The village Ordrup with a grocery store and several eating places is not far away either.

Get close to the local attractions
We at Feriepartner Odsherred recommend that you go exploring the Geopark landscape right on your doorstep. Via Lyshøj you can take the 1,7km and about 20 minutes’ walk to one of the most beautiful areas in Odsherred, Disbjerg, and you will be rewarded with a breathtaking view, if you get yourself up on Disbjerg itself that is protected and offers scenic views of the sea, the landscape and Ordrup foreland.

The meltwater ravine stretching from Disbjerg and out towards Skamlebæk Radio station is about 1,5km long. The difference in height from the bottom of the ravine to the ridge of the Vejrhøj Arch is up to 40 metres. From Disbjerg as well as Bolinge Hill, where the Skamlebæk Tower is situated, there is a view over this key location in the Ice Age landscape of Geopark Odsherred.

The undulating landscape with the big contrasts has also made the area around Disbjerg a key location for artists. The sign at the parking lot tells more about works from here that, together with many landscape paintings from the entire district, are on display in Odsherred Art Museum.
