The village Havnebyen at Sjællands Odde exudes nice vibes and active life during summer. At the harbour the fis­h­mon­ger is open all year round, and you have the renovated Auction house, today offering an abundance of cultural acti­vi­ties, the play­gro­und Van­d­eks­pe­ri­men­ta­ri­et, the museum about the tuna fishing adventure at Odden and the annual Mackerel festival for anglers in August.

The two-level holiday house with high location at Odden harbour has direct panorama view of the harbour and Kattegat and offers eve­ryt­hing, you could dream about. As there are stairca­ses in the house, we cannot recommend it, if you are poorly walking. If somebody wants to play cards and others just relax with a book, there are plenty of po­s­si­bi­li­ties to split up inside the house. You may all gather in the cosy living room and share the day’s events in front of the wood burner or enjoy the view from here or the terrace, while you are mixing drinks in the bar.

Enjoy life outside

The roof terrace on the first floor will be your favourite choice on a warm summer’s evening, for here you may sit half the night and count stars in the night sky. And when sleep is on its way, you only have a few steps down to the shelter in the garden of the house, if you want to dream out in the open. You may also barbecue in the garden or just enjoy the freshly smoked herrings, mackerel or salmon from either the smo­ke­hou­se nearby or from Odden Fisk at the harbour; unless you brought your own fishing rod and want to find one of the many good angling spots along the beaches at Sjællands Odde, where par­ti­cu­lar­ly sea trout is a frequent catch. .

Get close to the local at­tra­ctions

Have you ever visited a Danish vineyard? If not, we at Fe­ri­e­part­ner recommend you to pay a visit to one or more of the vineyards in the area, whose wines have won prizes on several occasions in national as well as in­ter­na­tio­nal com­pe­ti­tions. Dedicated people with great love of their local area are namely cha­ra­cte­ri­stic for Odsherred, where no less than three vineyards are producing wine: Ørnberg Vin at Sjællands Odde, Rørmosegård Vin in Rørvig and Vejrhøj Vin by Fårevejle. A mild climate created by the vicinity to the sea and the unusually many hours with sun have the result that Odsherred in many places offers almost optimum con­di­tions for growing grapes. As is the case at Odden, where Ørnberg Vin are growing their annual harvest on a stony, south-facing slope with a view of Sejerø Bay. With the sea on both sides of the vineyard the risk for frost in May and October is quite minimal. Enjoy your tour around the wine country Odsherred.
