Allinge

On the north coast, the landscape is dramatic, and the views are breathtaking—Allinge is no exception. The town borders the fascinating area around Hammeren, offering some of Denmark’s most spectacular natural environments. Allinge harbour is a gathering point with a great atmosphere offering cafés, ice cream shops, eateries, and shops. The town is characterised by half-timbered houses in every colour, narrow streets, and cosy squares. You can explore small, cosy oases. Allinge also offers art and culture in various forms and is home to venues, creative workshops, and the annual jazz festival.

Bornholm_Gudhjem

Gudhjem

Gudhjem has everything you need for a lovely, versatile holiday in beautiful surroundings. The town offers shops, bars, and eateries, but you will also find a smokehouse, delis, glassworks, museums, and more. The port of Gudhjem exudes an authentic fishing atmosphere with houses, yachts, and fishing boats of all sizes. Many sailors spend their summer holiday here. A beautiful old church overlooks the rooftops of Gudhjem and the ships’ masts. From here, you can see the island of Christiansø in the distance, which you can explore if you hop on the tour boat that departs from the wharf.

Hasle

Hasle is located on the west coast with a large harbour. The harbour buzzes with life, perfect for strolls along the pier. The town’s smokehouse is next to the harbour. This is not just any smokehouse but the last one left on Bornholm, where the smoking takes place in the traditional, old-fashioned way using alder firewood in open chimneys. In the centre of Hasle, you will find a cultural house where you can see exhibitions, local arts and crafts, and more. Hasle also offers lovely beaches, an activity park, good playgrounds, restaurants, cafés, and some of the island’s most beautiful sunsets.

Bornholm_Rønne

Rønne

Rønne is the first town you come to when you arrive on lovely Bornholm. Beautiful St Nicholas Church is majestically located in a protruding square upon entry to the harbour, welcoming visitors. The town centre is characterised by narrow cobbled streets, half-timbered houses, and cosy squares. It offers a rich commercial and cultural life, and you will find historic buildings, museums, local arts and crafts, galleries, and more. There is ample opportunity to explore the island’s excellent beaches in all directions. Head south to visit Boderne or wonderful Dueodde—one of Denmark’s best beaches.

Svaneke

Beautiful Svaneke offers a plethora of wonderful holiday experiences. The town is bursting with exciting speciality shops, including the famous brewery, the dairy store, hard candy maker, chocolate shop, glassblowers, galleries, and smokehouse. There is plenty to explore here and many local food experiences to savour. Svaneke is buzzing with life, and both the harbour and the town centre are popular gathering points with great ambience. Moving just outside the town centre, in either direction, reveals stunning views of dramatic cliff formations, adorable houses, and cosy little beaches.

Aakirkeby

The old market town of Aakirkeby is located in the southern part of Bornholm, an ideal location for the island’s beaches. Here, you will find stunning Dueodde with its white, sandy beaches winding as far as the eye can see, but Balka Beach and Boderne also rank among Bornholm’s best beaches. Aakirkeby offers historical buildings, museums, and cultural attractions. If you move towards the middle of the island, you will get to Almindingen, Denmark’s fifth-largest forest. Spend several hours exploring the terrain and the historical and cultural sights here, such as Rytterknægten and Ekkodalen.
